Smok RPM40 Disassembly and Repair (Not Turning On) https://ift.tt/39EddXm

Pics

Rpm 40 wouldn’t turn on, battery has a defective solder. Ground lead disconnected from battery with no effort. I’ll post pictures of my solder if it’s successful, should be straight forward.

It would turn on if plugged in, but immediately displayed 100% battery and showed “atomizer short” if I tried to use it.

To disassemble, peel the screen bezel to remove the buttons, and remove the 2 t5 screws on bottom.

The internal assembly then slides out. This took me a while to figure out, due to a seal surrounding the pod area causing quite a bit of friction. I used a large blade screwdriver to push against the edges of the USB port, as well as prying upwards against the cutouts that allow the pod to snap into place.

Pics of before/after solder.. Ended up resoldering all the power connections, they all looked inadequately heated. Came out pretty ugly but should work fine.
